Case Study: Parramatta City Council Meals on Wheels

Speaker(s):
Description:

Parramatta City Council (Sydney, Australia) The Parramatta City Council (located in Sydney) implemented CiviCRM to provide constituent management services in several areas -- one of which was to provide tools for tracking their meals-on-wheels (MOW) program. The MOW program prepares and delivers meals to elderly residents throughout the city. Staff use CiviCRM to track orders, generate (copy) new orders, generate invoices, track stock, and run a myriad of reports. Most of the handling was done using activity records. Quite a bit of customization was done to facilitate batch processing, tie activity records to contribution records, account for third party payers, build out the reporting requirements, and handle various client exceptions processing (both individual and seasonal). In this case study we'll walk through this innovative use of CiviCRM to provide MOW service management and describe the customizations implemented to meet their goals. The project was implemented by Energetica, with subcontracted development work by Lighthouse Consulting & Design.
